Creative Control Music Recording and Mentorship Program
Mission: The Creative Control program aims to provide participants with:
New Perspectives: Exposure to the music industry and the creative process as viable and fulfilling alternatives to drug use.
Confidence: Building self-esteem through achievement and positive reinforcement.
Skills: Teaching practical skills in songwriting, vocal performance, and sound engineering to enable continuous creative expression.
Participants will leave the program with:
A completed, professionally recorded song.
Enhanced songwriting and vocal abilities.
A basic understanding of sound engineering.
A strengthened support network of peers and mentors.
A toolkit for channeling personal struggles into creative outlets.
Main Objective: The primary goal of the Creative Control program is to foster creativity and provide a positive alternative to drug use among youth. By engaging participants in the music creation process, the program aims to empower them to channel their emotions and challenges into artistic expression.
Program Structure:
Day 1-3: Lyric Writing and Self-Expression Workshop with Jade
Objective: Enhance participants' ability to express themselves through lyrics.
Activities:
Day 1: Introduction to lyric writing, exploring themes, and developing personal narratives.
Day 2: Advanced techniques in songwriting, including metaphor, simile, and storytelling.
Day 3: Group sharing and feedback sessions, refining lyrics, and preparing for performance.
Day 4: Vocal Coaching and Mentorship - "Art of Collaboration" Workshops
Objective: Improve vocal performance and teach the importance of collaboration in music.
Activities:
Morning: Individual vocal coaching sessions focusing on technique, breath control, and performance.
Afternoon: Collaborative exercises, forming groups to work on harmonizing and blending voices.
Evening: Group performance practice, with feedback from mentors.
Day 5: Professional Studio Recording and Sound Engineering Workshops
Objective: Introduce participants to the professional recording environment and teach basic sound engineering skills.
Activities:
Morning: Tour of the recording studio, introduction to equipment and roles within a studio setting.
Afternoon: Hands-on recording sessions where participants record their songs.
Evening: Basic sound engineering workshop, covering topics such as mixing, mastering, and producing.
By the end of the 5-day program, participants will have developed the ability to transform their challenges into creativity, promoting a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle free from the influence of drugs.
